The Probably Untrue Story of Mary (who) Had A Little Lamb By Sonus Novus, LLC |
 |
|
| A child's introduction to classical music. Includes a story, a take-off of the Mary Josepha Hale's original poem "Mary's Lamb." The story is narrated on the CD and has background music as well as musical "illustrations," all of which are variations on the familiar tune "Mary Had A Little Lamb." In the course of the story Mary and her lamb, Petunia, meet and stay with Mary's Uncle, Antonio Vivaldi. Eventually lamb and listener are introduced to a very important Vivaldi work. In addition to the main story there are purely musical extras including "Mary And Petunia Sing On Broadway" (Jazz), "Mary and Petunia On The Trail" (cowboy/country), "Mary And Petunia Go To Church" (sacred), "Vivaldi Plays A Bar Mitzvah Gig" (Klezmer) and the complete three movements of Vivaldi's "Spring."
