Ben Rudnick & Friends, the acclaimed American roots style family music band, will release A Frog Named Sam this spring. The band’s versatile musicianship is evident with more depth and skill than ever in this new release, featuring 11 whimsical and high-spirited tunes.

The rockin’ title track tells the tale of a croaking frog who doesn’t like the water and starts a rock band in the city. The doo-wop “Three Little Fishes” offers up a swimmingly fun story and sing-along fun. “Race Car” is a road-tested traveling tune that is “smoking down the track.” Crossing the street becomes a joyous adventure with the tune “I Need a Hand.” Two instrumental jigs offer perfect soundtracks for family dance parties, and listeners will delight in the new arrangements of classic folk tunes “Erie Canal,” “Old Joe Clark” and “Greensleeves.” The tune “The Santa Fe” echoes Americana classics, but it is a new tune penned by mandolin player and band member John Zevos.
